Ye, I will DREAM ON!

Have you got a dream that you have toyed with from your childhood? It’s always been a dream of mine to become an author. I enjoyed seeing other people's lives through reading when I was young. It gave me hope, challenged my mind it was not only fun. How great it would be if I could tell others about my experiences and feelings and share them.

So what have I been doing for my dream? Practically? Nothing. I haven’t written any fiction or anything yet. Becoming a writer without practising writing is that possible? I guess many people would like to say ‘Dream on!’ But I believe it’s more important to have intense experiences than to spend time focusing on writing. Furthermore, it’s a good time to learn about the world and broaden my horizons at my young age.

So I had travelled around Europe for forty days by myself. I realised that indeed there was a really big world outside Korea! I became so sensitised by the experience that I kept a diary of the trip . It might be helpful when I publish travel journals later. Before X, I had been working in a natural cosmetics company, so I was able to learn about environmentally-friendly cosmetics, harmful effects of chemicals, organic industries, fair-trading and so on. I am happy to get to know how to live a sustainable life on the earth with the others.

When I felt a lack of experience, I decided to go to another country. And now, I’m in Australia. Australia is a great place in that it’s a melting pot of nationalities. Of course, there might be ups and downs while I am living in Australia, far from my country. But there’s a simple principle. Make more mistakes, then you learn more. This whole experience could eventually make me wiser and more creative.

I am still keeping my dream. I want to write a sincere essay or a novel in my latter life. From now on I will try to make my life more beautiful and passionate for my writing further down the track. I am sure my journey- my life is going on a right track in terms of following my dream. And who cares if I don't become a writer? Keeping a dream in your mind would lead you to a satisfactory life at the end.
Let’s just dream on.

What’s your dream?

Now, I’m staying in Sydney in Australia. I have been here for three months. I have never stayed in another country for such a long time. Do you know why I’m here?
Before I came here, I worked in Ernst & Young Korea as an accountant. This job was so hard that I hardly had my own time. I didn’t have any idea about my future. Of course, I thought many times about what I would do later but in my job it was difficult for me to develop myself because I didn’t get the chance to learn other skills. So I had to make a decision for myself to live my dream.

I have always dreamed of my own accounting company since I became an accountant. I know that I’ll have to overcome many difficulties and I need to have lots of knowledge, experience, money and a good network. I had two choices. One was to continue to work for my company and the other was to have a holiday to have other experiences. I went with the second choice and made up my mind to come to Australia.

First, I decided that I would improve my English skills. The reason for it was that if I wanted to change companies for my career development, every company would require me to have English skills. And if I wanted to work with foreigners, I should know how to speak English. It is so important for me to realise my dream. That’s why I’m here.

Second, after I finish my course, I’m going to Korea and I’ll resume my job in Ernst & Young. I will work for one year. I will find another job involving a different aspect of accounting in the same company . I’ll try to understand about the many parts of the job and to employ some people who have same dream as me.

If I fail to found my own company, I might feel so sad and frustrated. But I won’t give up trying. It’s not impossible to be achieved. And achieving dream is difficult for everybody. If you were me would you give up?

Now, you know why I’m here. And what my dream is . Think about your dream and how to achieve your dream.

Dream on! by Emi

I have a dream which is to be an aroma therapist. When I lived in Japan I learned the skills of aroma therapy at school on the weekends, and I got a British international license last year. After that, I quit my job and I came to Sydney on March 1st. I worked as an internship trainee at an aroma massage salon in Neutral Bay for the last three months. I can work as an aroma therapist now.

However, the massage business is actually very difficult in Japan, especially in Tokyo. Massage businesses don’t need a license in Japan. So, there are many massage salons in Japan. Because they cannot compete due to the quality of the massage skills, they supply very cheap prices. Actually, there has been a price collapse in massage field. Most aroma salons have sales quotas. First, they supply the cheapest price but when clients visit their salon therapists pressure clients to purchase package tickets at a normal price. There is a big difference from the purpose of aroma therapy treatment. Our mission is complementary medical care and preventive medicine.

I think it is not the right time to start a massage business in Japan. I will be waiting for a chance. By that time, I will have improved on my massage skills and knowledge more on a medical field, anatomy, physiology, pathology, dietetics, psychology and so on. I also want to be a good adviser for their health.

On the other hand, if I have a chance to start a massage business, I also have another problem. Normally, if clients need aroma therapy treatment, they don’t come to a salon regularly, because massage sessions are not cheap. We cannot expect to have a steady monthly income. And also, if we start massage business, we have to make up our minds that we will never make big returns. Because the equipment cost is very expensive, aroma massage is almost volunteer work. If I make a living by myself, I will have to get an another job from which I can get a steady source of income.

My dream is healing everybody who have problems of physical and mental nature. I would like to release them from their stress and eventually lead them to happiness. There are many people in Tokyo who have physical and mental problems due to stress and nowadays, people in Tokyo have been getting mean, even children. We would be necessary to people and society in the near future.

The more unrealistic your dream is, the happier you are.

Everyone has a dream even though it seems to be unrealistic. I have always dreamed of building the most attractive building in the world by using new material that doesn’t exist now and would be more effective than former one. The word “attractive” that I used does not mean only “attractive external surface” but also “full of creativity inside” so that everyone who uses that building could be captivated by it.

I know my dream is a bit unrealistic compared with my short experience and lack of knowledge. I’m currently studying architectural engineering in university and I have almost no experience in this field. There are too many subjects that I should study to make my dream come true. For example, I should study architectural design, structural analysis and new materials. Also I should research good examples of creative buildings which were built by famous architects in the past. Of course researching is not enough. I should investigate what kind of things I can improve and modify considering the users’ situation. It requires not only studying on the desk but also experiences in reality.

However, I feel so excited even though I know my dream is quite unrealistic. It’s much better than living in a boring situation such as doing a routine job. I will have been studying new subjects until my dream come true. I will have new experience every single day. I’m sure that going through this procedure could make me happy. The more unrealistic my dream is, the happier I am.
So it means it wouldn’t worry me if my dream doesn’t come true. The procedure that I would make to realize my dream will be meaningful enough. So dream high, even if you aren’t confident of your ability.

HOW I WILL BECOME A MILLIONAIRE BEFORE AGE 35.

I would like you to know that this story I`ll tell you is completely true. It`s about my dream and the way I`ll try to become a millionaire before age 35.
First of all, when I go back to my country I`ll find a good job, when I say a good job, it means between 50 and 60 thousand dollars per year, what can not be considered a good job if you over 30`s but in my case it will be because I`m only 23 years old. After that, it will be easy to make my first million dollars because I live with my parents and my expenses are exclusively with entertainment. As a stock broker my earnings will increase exponentially and I`ll invest all my money in investments where I can earn more than 20% per year and also buy houses to rent.
Finally I will study as much as I can because I don`t wanna be just another stock broker, I wanna be the best. And I will meet important people, the richest people in Sao Paulo and Brazil, and they will be my clients. I will study not only others method of investing but I will also learn how to manage properties, buy, sell houses and build as well.

I don`t know how it would feel to be 35 years old without a family or even one thousand dollars in your account, but for me it could be hellish to live without money. It is terrible when your son wishes something and you have to say that unfortunately you don`t have enough money to afford it, or even worse you don`t have money to enjoy your life.
Before trying to change the world, start changing yourself. I was complaining about my job, about my career and I haven`t done anything to improve then. So I decide to come to Australia to improve my English and my career as well. What about you? What on earth are you doing to change your life? Complaining about everything will definitely not help you.

I want to relax with Kangaroo. Kangaroo looks relaxed. This picture was of four gorillas. My mistake! They are human! Help me!!(mouse) Snake is very dangerous animal. Snake eat as size as other animals. We watched conclusive a moment!

I missed it!

I didn’t go to TARONGA ZOO, because I woke up late, yesterday. When I arrived at selc ,they already left to TARONGA ZOO. So I called my friend Daniel . I sad ‘where are you?’ but I knew , I couldn’t go there on time because it was very far from selc to TARONGA ZOO.

First Time

We saw for first time kangaroos, tiger, koalas and meerkats. This was one experience very exciting for everyone. Mina loved tiger. Natalia prefer meerkats, because they are funnier than other animals. And Kei was surprised with kangaroos and koalas.
To arrive at Taronga Zoo, we took a cablecar. Mina was terrified with the height because the cable is very tall. No one moved, so Mina was comfortable.
Kei touched a snake. This experience was her first time. Kei was scared so she touched just for few seconds. She was must be braver than other student because only she touched the snake.
Natalia liked the animals in the Zoo. She liked the view of the Zoo because in side there any one can see the Harbour Bridge, Opera House and Sydney.
Everyone was scared when the snake ate the little mouse. The snake ate very slowly and this look was very horrible.
This day was very funny and unforgettable. =)

Snake eating lunch

We went to Taronga ZOO!! Then we saw a snake eating lunch. The Snake ate a mouse. I felt excited but my friend Nao was so scared. I took a movie when the snake was eating lunch.
The snake ate the mouse very slowly. The mouse looked terrible… That’s too bad.
I think “sorry mouse”!!!!!!!

Excursion to Taronga Zoo

June 11th – Taronga Zoo – Sydney (Australia)

So, we’re starting this post writing about our excursion at Taronga Zoo on June 11. First, we met others students and our teacher Deena at our school and together we went to Bondi Junction Station to catch the bus to Circular Quay to meet other students. At Circular Quay we caught the ferry to Taronga Zoo then we could see the good views of the city.

When we arrived at Taronga Zoo, we had to take a cable car from the entrance to the beginning of the Zoo and again we could see the fantastic view of the city.

When the cable car arrived at the Zoo, we saw a big koala where we took a lot of pictures. It was fantastic!

At the Zoo, we saw a lot of different animals like Australian animals, Africans, South Americans and other animals of different parts of the world. That was a first time we saw Koalas, Kangaroos, Meerkats and other different animals.

Taronga Zoo is really fantastic!
